life lately
The snow has arrived! Everyone has been wondering when it would get here, and with it came cold weather, and just today we had our first skate on the rink in front of our house. If you look closely, that's Henry looking out the window and you can see everyone working hard to shovel the snow in the day, so the guys can flood at night. Sam's been out on his snowshoes, and as you can see, being outside in the snow playing just wipes him out. He doesn't really nap anymore, but about once a week he falls asleep during quiet time, especially if he's been skating or snowshoeing.
Henry turned 17 months old last week, and we lit a small candle at the table and since he loves singing, we sang Happy Monthday to him and he blew the candle out all on his own! The wheelie bug has come back from Andy's house and his legs finally reach so they've all been riding on it again.
We got a self-teaching piano book, and so far my strategy has been working. There is no pressure to play or practice, it's just there if you want to sit down and try it. With a guide on what letters the keys are, they are matched to the book, and Stew has been figured out a few songs. Anna can play a number of songs, and loves performing to a crowd, so with my parents over for dinner on Saturday night she was so excited to get out the set list.
And to cap off the week, Anna and I learned we had lice! I just took a deep breath writing that. We are doing lots of combing, a few shampoo treatments, checking, checking, and more checking. Our first time having it, and wow, what a learning experience.
