sam 2.7, henry .7

My heart just swells looking at these photo's. I'm not sure how I got them both sitting together, and not moving for almost 2 minutes, but it happened yesterday morning. Anna and I have been calling them Samantha and Henrietta, and they think its just the funniest thing, to have a girl name. Sam answers for Henry with a different voice and we all end up laughing and giggling. They are funny these two, they are also so huggable and squishy, and I get to hang out with them all day.

andy sleepovers

One of the biggest gifts of our move for Stew and I, as well as the kids, was to be closer to their younger cousin Andy. He's now 19 months old, and for him, he hasn't really known us that long. Yes, we saw him as a baby a few times, but now that he's talking and growing into a toddler, he's really figuring out who we are. He knows us by name, and says it often, and when he comes over he goes right for the balls or drum stick, and on special occasions he's slept over while Kate and Craig have been away. Our kids love this - Anna mother's and teaches all the boys, Sam acts goofy, and Henry just sits and watches, laughs and observes one more kid in the mix. That's the funny thing with three kids - when you add one or two more, there isn't that much more work (when you consider the baseline of work you are already doing). They start to play together, and you just pull up another chair, find another place to assemble a playpen or set up an air mattress. We love it when he comes over, we hope this tradition can carry on for many years to come.

this week

Ended for us on a high note! The first week back after March break, and Tompa came and spent the day with us today, and what a treat. He took Sam for a haircut (apparently, this was the first time, he's ever taken anyone to get a haircut, not even his own daughters), he fixed our toilet, picked up Anna from school and had dinner with us, Craig and Andy. He is here for the 4-H Ontario conference and banquet with Grammy. Thanks Dad, so nice of you to come and spend time with us.

march break wrap

Our first official March break has wrapped up. So much for a 'break', everyone here is exhausted tonight. Anna worked really hard all week at ballet camp, and performed today to a packed house. The theme of camp was magic, so all the songs and dance centred around different types of magic - Harry Potter, Puff the Magic Dragon, Cinderella, and magic carpets. They used wands in a couple of dance numbers, as well as drums, and this made for a cool sound in the Youth Music Centre auditorium. Sam and Henry even got dressed up today, clean spring clothes came out of the bins, yahoo! Sam went to the Art Factory, a few leprechaun's played tricks on us and were very naughty in our basement, Stew stayed home Thursday and we did a deep clean of the upstairs, organized all our paperwork for doing our taxes, and went out for lunch with Henry, a fun week indeed.
