fit for a manger

We have a day of wrapping, writing, and 'practicing' ahead of us - someone is very excited to be performing in tonight's Christmas pageant (if all goes as planned). Good luck to 'Tompa' as well.

Christmas Eve kisses from Anna to all those visiting today.

You know it's going to be a great day when you wake to this smiling face and she giggles when you give her your morning kisses. Yep, I'm in love with this little 'banana'.

our list

1) Rock Anna to sleep using the tree lights and our favourite Christmas songs - check
2) Get Anna a Christmas dress - check (thanks Grammy)
3) Visit with Grandma and Grandpa while Mom finishes Christmas shopping - check
4) Start Christmas baking - scratched off this list due to the oven deciding to self clean itself last week resulting in a blown fuse on the control panel. Thank goodness for bacon and egg cookies, no cooking required.
5) Let Mom go for a pedicure (with a great vegan polish, who knew!) and give her 1 hour in the tub - check
6) Practice our crokinole, teach Anna to shoot - work in progress
7) Try and limit the intake of Christmas baked goods - only somewhat succesful here - Heather, thanks for stopping by and recharging our batteries with sugar!

It's getting late

And these are the types of faces my parents are starting to make because I don't feel like sleeping just yet.

PS. Hee hee hee or should I say ho ho ho

hello seven weeks

Well, here we are after 7 whole weeks, a few questions you might be asking yourself...

How heavy am I? - 5.59 kg or 12.3 lbs

How long am I? - 58.5 cm

How big is my head? - 38.5 cm

What is my favourite food? - my Mom's milk

What tricks can I do? - smile, hold up my head, pee all over the change table pad at the exact moment my diaper is getting changed and pretend to sleep in my parents bed.

music to live (and play) by

I wanted to share all the great music Anna has received as gifts over the past few weeks. Not knowing really much about all the music available for children, I am so happy listening to these new disks - especially for a winter baby when we are spending (alot) more time inside.

The first CD is a collection of world lullabies, sent to us by Nancy and Carl. It is called Dreamland by Putumayo Kids. With songs from Africa to Asia it is a very refreshing take on bedtime songs. A portion of the proceeds go to the Putumayo Cross-Cultural Initiative and it can be found at 10,000 Villages.

The second CD is Rockabye Baby with songs from Coldplay. This was sent to us by Alan and Rochelle and it is amazing. The songs are very relaxing and the collection is very diverse - everything from The Beatles, Bjork to AC/DC (not sure how relaxing those would be!)

The remaining CD's are a collection of burned music from The Rowe's - many of these songs are from Kindermusik Family Time and Musik Garten - great fun for tummy time. We have also received Elizabeth Mitchell's - You Are My Little Bird - another great one. More music review's to come as we continue to collect...

thank you

Thanks Uncle Craig and Auntie Kate for a great visit (and all your great gifts) - I will see you in a few short weeks - kisses from Anna xxxxxx

love at first sight - all over again

They're here...Aunt Kate and Uncle Craig braved a bitter storm and made it. We are looking forward to a great visit together. Temperatures are calling for more snow and freezing weather over the weekend, so we are going to stay in and snuggle with Anna to keep warm. 4 out of 4 adults agree that Anna is better than the Snuggie.

two discoveries

My thumb
My RESP

An interesting article appeared today in the Globe and Mail about RESP's and the cost of University when Anna decides to go (2027 is not that far away), good thing we've started saving, these numbers are huge!(and thanks to Aunt Faye for reminding us).
