winter art

Monet, Matisee, Van Gogh, Pollock, and Hundertwasser - all artists we learned about at the winter session of our art class. This class was a gift to Anna from Santa, and we've all enjoyed our time at 4Cats Studio (Grandma and Grammy included). She has completed a number of projects, the big ones being two canvas pieces - a Monet and a Hundertwasser which we had stretched onto frames. Stew took one to work, the other is currently in our living room and I love it. She picked 'warm colours' as she calls them for this one, she painted the trees and glued on the paper and canvas applique. Glitter pens, and glitter itself was used, along with chalk....about a month of work in total.

This class is adult accompanied  Sam got to ride along in the baby carrier and we hung out with 6 other 3 year olds. Anna was very good (and interested) in the modeling clay and felt parts of some of the other projects. She also 'got dirty' in the splatter room which was great to see.

Bring on the spring session, we've signed up again and can't wait to see what they have planned next.

P.S - smile Sam, you had fun too!

anna's hair salon

It's been a full week of hair cuts around here. Ever since Anna's first experience at Beaners she's been cutting all of our hair. Stew got 5 trims on the weekend, I got 4 and Sam even sat down in Anna's chair for his first 'good brush', as she says. You have to call ahead to make an appointment, she pays you and you also get your temperature taken, a piece of jewelry and barrettes  She also puts in 'lotion' and if you're not listening she almost breaks your neck, so 'sit still!'.

mission accomplished

We did it...yep, it was a huge team effort this week. Big shout outs to Anna and Stew, they were troopers. Sam also did well, he ate all his meals, drank lots of pumped milk from the bottle, napped and slept well. But the biggest thanks goes to Grammy. She kept us fed, watered, clean and most of all kept Sam happy and very content. I also graduated, it was intense at times, but this course was so relevant, strategic and will provide me with the confidence I needed to make change.  Thanks to all my people for the most wonderful gift - accreditation and knowledge for a job I love so much.

this moment

Anna asking so many questions, it's hard to get to the actual story!
