knitted goodness

Anna received some of the most beautiful knitted gifts for her baptism - a special thank you to Aunt Tina and Great Nana who added to her collection of hats and a very special sweater that fits like a glove and is made with some of the most amazing wool ever.

getting ready

Lots of things to do over the next few days, gotta keep the list going....

New carrier for Dad for the airports - check
Laundry, load after load so we are clean upon arrival (well sort of) - check
Take a nap in between all the laundry - check
Visit with Grandma, Grandpa, Aunt Katie and Jacob - tomorrow!

Sending warm hugs and cuddles to Tompa as he continues to get strong for our visit. We will update this photo in just a few short days.

when all else fails...

Someone (we won't name who) has been staying up past their bedtime for the past few nights which has resulted in a tired and grouchy baby during the day. So today was another one of those days and after eating half a box of chocolate finger cookies (it's okay I tell myself, I had an apple after) and a long walk someone was left on the front porch to slumber. Well, I think the sun and 10 degree fresh air helped to bring a bit of comfort to both baby and Mom. I remember my Mom doing this with my sister when she was born, maybe it's in the family, I don't know, but it helped - thanks finger cookies.

tompa and a torch toque

Thanks Great Nana for the great torch toque you knit for me. I wore it to the grocery store today with Mom and everyone loved it. I am looking forward to wearing it on Wednesday - the big day.

I am also wishing my Tompa a very restful, speedy recovery after his knee surgery today. We are thinking of you and counting down the days until I can snuggle with you at the farm.

two babies

Anna is just 5 weeks older than the new baby giraffe at the zoo. However this baby was born almost 6 feet tall.
We even got poo sprayed by the hippo (Anna has done this too, so she fit right in!)

going to the zoo

Mommy's taking us to the zoo tomorrow
Zoo tomorrow, zoo tomorrow
Mommy's taking us to the zoo tomorrow
And we can stay all day

We're going to the zoo, zoo, zoo
How about you, you you?
You can come too, too, too
We're going to the zoo, zoo, zoo

(one of our favourite Raffi songs)

Yep, that's right, Dad's off so we are going on our first field trip.

breakfast 8:17am

You know the days are getting longer when you get to see this first thing in the morning.
Anna has been getting up just a little earlier lately and I don't mind it so much when you get to enjoy this view - both baby and the most amazing prairie sunrise
